Heather O'Rourke - (December 27, 1975 - February 1, 1988)
Heather O'Rourke will forever be remembered by millions as Carol Anne Freeling in the 1982 movie Poltergeist. This movie is childhood classic for me as it played over and over in my home while I was growing up. Still to this day, whenever it is on, I always feel the need to sit down and watch.
I was 16 when Heather O'Rourke died in February of 1988. I still recall her death being the topic of discussion between my sister and me for weeks. Heather was the embodiment of the little girl living next door. I am sure her death still haunts her family so it is with the greatest respect that I share this here.
I recently acquired the contents of Heather O'Rourke's wallet from Kathleen O'Rourke. Why the wallet was not included is a mystery but I felt compelled to take whatever I could get. Besides, I like to imagine that the wallet was a cloth material, pink-in-color with Velcro, and an image of Rainbow Brite on the outside.
